Having a rant!

Post by lucasmummy on Thu Jun 11, 2009 8:21 pm

Sorry but just need to let off some steam, please feel free to give me a virtual slap if you think i need one!
But this really winds me up, Ive been on bounty forum, am just watching 0-3 months as we have only just gone up to 4-6 and everyone else I know is still on 0-3! And there is a post about colief. Mums are asking how to use it etc and wanting it on prescription cos its sooo expensive.
Colief breaks down lactose in milk and if it works for your baby tends to mean that they are lactose intolerant, using this in babies milk when they are not intolerant can make them so! So I've posted this and informed them to please consult their doctor if its working or if they have any questions etc, and theres a post saying shes gonna use it anyway!!! How ignorant is that? I know I wouldnt want to give Lucas something if he didnt need it running the risk of making him intolerant. It is hard enough for me at the minute (Lucas IS lactose intolerant!) and weaning him is fairly difficult (fine while hes just on soya milk) but I'm having to puree fruit for him and make all his meals myself as a lot of baby food jars contain milk. (admittedly cow and gate and hipp have been really good and sent me a list of all their jars that are lactose/milk/ dairy free) but it still is quite difficult. He cannot have yogurts, any cheese sauce or muesli/porridge etc as they all contain lactose!
Why are people so ignorant, I was only trying to help and give them some advice?!

Sorry, rant over, feel free to comment or slap me!!!

Jules - who is now going to sit on the naughty step and calm down!!!

valid rant hun!!! I too am shocked by that, why would you not get more info from your dr/hv before using something like that and i would certainly appreciate someone taking time to advise me of the adverse effects and be wary of using it! Now get off the naughty step and onto the comfy sofa!!xx
